19.12.2010

Got woken up at 4 am. Everyone was leaving at 5 am, I was in my pajamas and was feeling pretty tired. Pretty painless goodbye and then I went back to bed. Woke up at 9 am and I went to the train station expecting everything to be closed because it was a Sunday. I was in luck as it was the Sunday before Christmas and that practically everything was open until 8 pm.

It was snowing all morning and it was windy so I went into the Museum of Communication. A really interesting view of Germany's postal service through history and many other things. There was a robot that would greet you if you walked up to him and the other robot would play with a big ball.

I continued along and was cold again and walked into a medicinal technology museum. The museum wasn't particularly interesting but then I saw a rabbit. I couldn't get up close to it because security didn't let me but he did say there were a few families of them hanging around the construction site. Mind you this is right next to Potsdamer Platz.

I spent a bit of time shopping and it was still snowing  so I wanted to find a good museum. I saw an ad for the Germany History Museum's exhibition of the Hitler era. I went there, it was free, toilet (considering you usually need to tip), locker, everything, the wonders of being under 18!

Afterward I caught a bus in the hope of going sightseeing, instead it took me to the outskirts of the city. On the way back we were blocked by police, I got out and then realised what it was. It was the Coca-Cola Christmas Tour, their final run in Berlin. I didn't get anything :(. It made me really happy but then I had to go collect my things and catch my train from the outskirts of Berlin, it was a safe suburb, pretty sure it is even one of the richest suburbs!
